National Individual Consultant to support drafting of the National Population Policy

Background: Population Management Division/Ministry of Health and Population (PMD/MoHP) is developing the National Population Policy with integration of the country's current contexts. The PMD/MoHP would like to ensure that the process of the policy formulation goes through adequate technical rigor, evidence-based and consultation among the relevant stakeholders before it is submitted for final government approval. The National Consultant will provide necessary technical support to PMD/MoHP through UNFPA to achieve its above-mentioned objective. 

Eligibility: PhD in demography, social sciences, development studies or a related field; 10 years of work experience in population and development fields with relevant international experience as an added advantage; Exposure to government and international policy document review and analysis; Familiarity with the implementation and progress review of international conferences including ICPD, SDGs, etc.; Proven experience in population and public health research field desirable; Experience of working with multi-stakeholders, including Government, multi and bilateral donors, national/international NGOs and civil society; Good sense of initiative and ability to work independently; Excellent facilitation and analytical skills; Excellent computer skills; Fluency in written and spoken Nepali and English.
