Theme: Gender Equality in Nepal
Context: International Women's Day 2015

Participate to promote gender equality and women's empowerment in Nepal!

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN WOMEN jointly offer you a great opportunity to explore and use your creativity. Produce a short video (maximum 4 minutes) around the theme "Gender Equality in Nepal". Join a competition for a cause. #MakeitHappen!

Deadline: March 7, 2015 [No video entries will be accepted after this date]

Specifications:
The video should not be longer than 4 minutes (minimum 1 minute). Videos taken with mobile phone cameras will also be accepted. The video can be in any language spoken in Nepal.

The video can take any form: it can be an acted-out film, animation, or silent/montage video with a relevant message/voiceover; it does not need to have a plot.

Short videos are not necessarily documentaries, they can be more creative. You can find hundreds of short video samples on YouTube. Some are:

The video must be uploaded to your own YouTube account and a link sent to the organizers' contacts below by the stated deadline. You can also send the link as a private message to www.facebook.com/undpnepalwww.facebook.com/unfpanepal orwww.facebook.com/unicefnepal.

If you have problems uploading your video to YouTube, please do not hesitate to contact the UNDP Office at Hariharbhawan, Pulchowk, with your video files on a pen drive.

Selection Process: Shortly after the stated deadline, we will post all videos received (after an initial screening) on our Facebook page, each with a unique serial number. Then, you can begin promoting your videos among your social circles for likes and comments until March 15, 2015 (likes and comments on YouTube videos or links of the videos in Facebook posted by entities other than the organizers before March 7 will not be counted. However, likes and comments received from March 7 to 15 on the original YouTube video will be counted. No duplicates shall be uploaded). The videos will be assessed on the number of likes/comments they receive across Facebook/YouTube/Twitter (50% weightage) and by a jury (50%), comprising of representatives from organizers and a senior journalist.

Best Short Video Awards: The two best videos will receive a cash prize and a certificate -- Rs. 200,000 for first prize, Rs. 150,000 for the second prize and Rs. 100,000 for the third.
