Mr. Haridass took over as the UNFPA Representative ad interim for Nepal effective 20th June 2025. He is a national of Sri Lanka and brings over 22 years of experience in strategic planning, programming, and leadership across both development and humanitarian settings. Most recently, he served as the Representative for UNFPA DPRK, where he led the country office through complex strategic, programmatic, and operational challenges. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Representative of UNFPA India Country Office, and from September 2021 to February 2022, he also served as the Representative for India and Country Director for Bhutan a.i.

Before joining UNFPA India, Mr. Haridass worked in UNFPA Sierra Leone, where he coordinated the agency’s response to the Ebola crisis and oversaw large-scale donor-funded projects. He also spent several years with UNHCR in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and South Sudan, contributing to critical operations and programmatic efforts in challenging environments.                                                                                                                            

Mr. Haridass holds a Master’s degree in Law and Human Rights (LLM) from the University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Curtin University of Technology, Perth. He is deeply committed to advancing the rights and choices of women and girls, and is an advocate for amplifying the voices of youth and adolescents.
